Standardization of data analysis of multiplex PCR for non-invasive prenatal RHD testing using FastFinder

Dr. Marianne Jakobs, molecular biologist
Odense University Hospital
In this talk, Dr. Jakobsen shows how the lab designed and implemented the test, and standardized the data analysis and result interpretation of this multiplex PCR test. Marianne talks us through how the test is put together, what controls are used, how the cutoffs and interpretation rules were determined, and finally, how the test was automated from both an instrumentation and robotics perspective as from an interpretation and LIMS reporting point of view.

"There is a real risk for errors if you simply accept cycler software calls at face value. You either need to add a time-consuming manual review step, or adopt intelligent software like FastFinder Analysis."
